The place where I live is a small well connected city with a beautiful beach, abundant sunshine (It is rare if you are living in Scotland) and is surrounded by vibrant woods, green hills and bog reserves sprawling with rich flora and fauna. To top it of, the outskirts of the city has a typical bucolic touch, which is astonishingly refreshing.
Apart from all the beautiful landscapes encompassing this city, there are numerous walking trails in and around the city, traversing the green turf, that can be explored on weekends with friends or even with your favourite pet. This inspired me to start walking, apart from my adventurous husband who loves to gear up for a hike and that is how I began exploring the Scottish highlands, meandering river beds and snow covered hills on foot.

Two important things I have learnt: Firstly, never forget to check the weather before you leave the house and in case nature plots against the plans, do not worry as the weather here changes in a blink… Surprisingly, there are times when one can experience a lovely sunshine, a snow shower and heavy rainfall in a single day and sometimes within the same hour.....

Secondly, though most of the trails have proper markings, always carry a map or an app to track the route as there would be hardly anyone to ask for directions, except for the sheep in the adjoining farms who royally ignore and turn their back if you to try to approach them.
I would keep posting every time I saunter along a new path....connecting with people who enjoy spending time with nature and love some adventure....
